Why you ask?

Well, after the second, I applied for Big B(r)other 3 - however, it turns out that the organisers are discriminating fools - they do not allow disabled people to apply, well, to get an audition! They even said it themselves.

So Big B(r)other is discriminating the equal oppertunities act, so they can kiss my butt-cheeks ...

I read this interesting article on The Register about BT's Broadband, where users are using it too much. You can see the article here:

BT is tightening up rules governing usage limits for its retail broadband service.
From this month, punters who exceed their monthly usage limits are to be emailed about upgrading their packages. Subscribers of BT's Option 4 package - which costs £29.99 a month and includes a 40 gig limit - will also be warned about their usage....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't BT upgraded their exchanges to allow 8mbps? This is kind of hypercritic isn't it, I mean, why allow the increased speeds if you can only download a certain amount a month? I'm so glad that I'm with Onetel, as they offer unlimited usage.

What gets me, England are trying to catch up with other countries on the Broadband front - but with rules like these, how could we? ...

Many of you know that I have a physical disability. I have lived by myself for five years, and had no problems for the first three years. However, in 2003 I was burgled in my own home - mistakenly I opened the door without looking through my spy-hole. He pushed me over, stole my mobile and ten pounds. Not so bad you say, well, I called the police - they came and took finger-prints from the door.... Two weeks later they contacted me, sadly the prints didn't turn anything up... They organised a meeting at a station where I could search a database of faces to see if I recognised anyone, yet again, I didn't see the guy.

A few weeks went by, I did not receive a word from the police ever again - and we pay taxes?

Anyway, a year ago I was given a CCTV camera so I could see who's at the door without having to go to the door - GREAT! However, it went wrong a week before another incident, weeks ago in April, a guy was trying to get in my front door. During this, my CCTV was broken, so I couldn't see who was there. Lucky he didn't get in even though he tried his hardest... So he went after 5 minutes of trying... I didnt call the police, as last time, they did sod all. What I did was sent my Housing association a fax, this was it:

To: Chiltern Hundreds Charitable Housing Association (01494 588281)
From: Peter Laws
RE: My front pathway & burglaries

I have been a tenant of yours since 2001 in one of your flats built specially for disabled people.

A few years go I was robbed in my own flat – they only took money and my mobile, but that isn’t the point. I wrote to you about this incident but I never received anything back.

As you might know, I live in ************ (Enfield), and there is a walkway straight by my front door, personally this is a very poor design as I get drug addicts and drunkards and peeping toms around my front door. I am disabled and am unable to defend myself if something should happen.

Yesterday, Sunday 2nd April 2006 at around 7pm, I had someone trying to get into my flat through my front door....... naturally I heard it, so I went to the door (didn’t open it).... he popped his head up to the window above the and asked if Allan was here. I shook my head to say no. I crept away but he kept trying but left after a minute. I was scared sh**less for the rest of the night. I could tell he was dodgy.

So, I am faxing to see if there is any way that I can request for the walkway to be re-designed so that my front door is fenced off from the public, as currently it’s dangerous, especially to vunerable people like myself. I always thought it was badly designed.

If you do not do something, I will contact my local MP, as it is currently dangerous for me.

Looking forward to your response.

I received a letter from them to inform me that they would have a meeting with their development Department, and will get back to me afterwards, well, 2 weeks past and received this letter:

Dear Mr Laws
Further to my previous letter I am writing to advise you that after consultation with our Development Department it has been decided that it would not be feasible to re design the walkway at this time.

If you are still experiencing problems with undesirables hanging around we would suggest that you contact the Police and advise them of your situation and perhaps they could arrange for a local community officer to visit and give you some advice on additional security.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
Janet Wynne
Housing Services Officer
Paradigm Housing Group

Industrial and Provident Societies No. 28844R Housing Corporation No. L4215
Paradigm Housing Group Ltd. Hundreds House 24 London Road West, Amersham, Bucks. HP7 OEZ Tel: 01494 830991 Fax: 01494588281
Email: enquiries@paradigmhousing.co.uk
Web: www.paradigmhousing.co.uk

As you can guess, I am not happy about this. What can I do? I should be entitled to a new walkway don't you think?
Your comments and ideas are welcome....

Recently, I have had many emails from Nigerians and from The National Lottery informing me that I have a sum of money waiting for me... Obviously no organisation would actually email you to tell of these funds. However, it is surprising on how many people actually fall for these scams - personally, it is common sense not to trust on-line offers from unknown sources... you wouldn't get in a strangers car would you?

These are known as 419 scams and are widely common. These scammers can open up a fake website, usually on free hosts, and lure their prey. A beautiful example of mugu retro design can be found at http://www.nation-lotto.co.uk. In case that this one is disabled by the hoster following someone filing an abuse notification, there is a mirror to be found here: http://tinyuri.com/710a. Notice how lame it looks? Chances are there is no SSL!

So, if you have ever received an email (or even Instant Messages) with money involved PLEASE DELETE IT! You will be wasting your time and money, so DELETE IT!

This is an article that was posted recently over at The Register:

Holland remains hidey-hole
By Jan Libbenga
Published Monday 27th March 2006 14:24 GMT

A grand jury in New York has returned a 10-count indictment against three of Nigerian defendants recently arrested in Holland and an 11-count indictment against a fourth suspect.

Dutch police last month arrested 12 people and confiscated 25,000 in cash, computers and fake travel documents. The suspects are being held by the Dutch authorities pending extradition to the US, where they could face up to 30 years in prison. One defendant, also a Nigerian citizen, is still at large.

Nnamdi Chizuba Anisiobi (a.k.a Yellowman, Abdul Rahman, Michael Anderson, Edmund Walter, Helmut Schkinger, Nancy White, Jiggaman and Namo), Anthony Friday Ehis (a.k.a John J Smith, Toni N Amokwu and Mr T), Kesandu Egwuonwu (a.k.a KeKe, Joey Martin Maxwell, David Mark) and John Doe 1 (a.k.a Eric Williams, Lee, Chucks and Nago) are charged with one count of conspiracy, eight counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud. Anisiobi is also charged with one count of bank fraud.

The victims, mostly Americans, lost more than $1.2m, according to the US Justice Department. "The defendants in this scheme allegedly fleeced many unsuspecting American victims with promises of charitable contributions and personal riches," assistant Attorney General Fisher said. "We cannot allow these scam artists to prey on innocent victims in this country, and we will work across the globe to knock out these fraudulent get-rich-quick schemes."

Unfortunately, that's not so easy. Last week, Dutch private detective company Ultrascan published figures which indicate there are still over 800 alleged 419 scammers working from the Netherlands, suggesting Holland is still the best hidey-hole for Nigerian advanced fraud scammers.

The UK is second with 724 scammers, followed by Spain with over 500 suspects. According to Ultrascan, the numbers only represent "hardcore scammers". The company estimates that in Holland alone at least 1,400 people are somehow involved with these type of scams.

Useful Links:
http://www.scam419.com
http://www.419fraud.com
http://www.419eater.com...
